It's akin to quicklot. There's thought about that in canada.
Hemophiliacs have it rough cause we're always getting scratched and wounded(in the normal course of a work day, it's considered a good day if you haven't bled:) Point is, if these trials are successful, they will greatly enhance firstaid effectiveness. Don't forget, they're major concern is that, if you sustain a head wound, that it doesn't clot because the veins and capillaries are so fine. |

Why would you even join the military as a Hemo? Couldn't you die from something as little as a shot in an extrimity?

Yes, but they could die by a shot to the extremity without those hundred little factors. That is, if I am right about all this, that is. |

I can't speak for Thor, but personally, living out a career in the army has been a long standing dream of mine. Unfortunately, the recruiting centre doesn't seem to want to put much attention towards reservists, so I do not yet have the privelage of calling myself a soldier, but my day will come. I would gladly die for my country, and cannot imagine myself dying any other way, no matter how contraversial the conflict is. So, long story short, it's a passion for me and I wouldn't let anything stop me, perhaps it's the same for Thor. Edited by SuperXero - 17 September 2006 at 1:14am |

Most people are too apathetic nowadays to even consider laying down their lives for their country.

It is not just the military that "tests" drugs on people. Drug trials before approval by the FDA and such are the norm.
Also a lot of trauma/disease drugs have and will be tested in the military, from sulfa drugs in WW2, to anti-malarials, to this, where else to test except on the extreme on the need for the drug. Just a comparison, probably a higher survival rate in these tests than being a fetus today. |
