You could go down to 1.6 but you will notice some slowdowns in newer applications/games. 1.8 is pretty much premo right now.

my laptop has a 2.2 single and runs bf2 smoothly, so a duo 1.8 should be fine.

I guess thats why I am probably going with Dell... that and I found out that if I go through my company as an affiliate of Dell, I get at least 20% off and then another 12% off anything over $1600 plus free shipping and some other discounts. I built a machine that lists at $2260 and would be paying approx. $1400. |
