I was expecting to have to say "We dont allow old people to post their opinion on music" when I saw Rico was the person who had posted last.

Still true, but Rico is an exception. But, try listening to The Roots. I think you may like them. Not quite the old school rap you may like, and it is rather new, but you should still enjoy it.

I'll admit, I can enjoy old-school rap.
But new rap(at least the mainstream stuff) is utterly horrible.

LOL!!  I will check it out... I listen to everything and I am not opposed to new sounds.

"Thats right, I play pump... your girlfriend borrowed my last set of batteries."
"How many times a second are you going to miss me before I shoot you?"

Bone Thugs-n-harmony(Mo Murda, Notorious Thugs, Let The Law End, Bad Weed Blues[download this if only to hear a nice take on blues], All The Way) BTNH is a real hit or miss group. You either love them or not, there isnt ususally anyone in the middle
Snoop Dogg(Cee Walkin, Lodi Dodi, OJ Wake Up)

why yes i do, I've heard a few mos def songs.  Is public enemy actually good or is it all about flav?

Chuck D has one of the most powerful rap voices I've ever heard. Damn good MC. Flav doesn't say much during any song, and thats good.
Terminator X is one great DJ.

Check out Public enemy.
