German is the way to go for tuning. Pretty expensive for repairs around here though... That's the main reason i'm not getting a Jetta.

Nice car. i wish they offered a GTI type package on the Diesel models
as i just cant bring my self to buy a gas car again. Nothing
wrong with a gas car its just im a diesel mehcanic for a living and
just prefer Diesels. Pluse i love the Diesels for their AMAZING
ECONOMY and shear wow facter after they are hmm Adjusted
 . Im hopeing to get a new Jetta TDI in a year or two to replace my now 20 year old Diesel VW Golf.My bro had a 2003 Golf TDI that we hoped up (chip, intake, exhuast, fuel delivery temp sensore mod, and tuned with Vag-Com. Car was DAMN quick and smoked more at Full throttel than my old 7.3 Diesel F250  . Car would set you back and hold you their quite well. Now my VW 1986 VW golf Diesel is a COMPLETELY differant story. Its pretty dang slow with only 52hp and 77lbs tq and is as plain as you could ever buy a car .
But it works well and manages great fuel economy 50-55mpg. It has
no troubles on the highway really and can hit 150km/hr (90mph) given a
little time and a heavy foot as long as the head wind is not too strong
. But after 20 years and 320,000kms its still running strong. HERES what a real V DUB looks like   |

Umm Bear claw Jetta TDI's Now dont last quite as long my neighbor got all hyped up on them he has put more money into them than he probably paid for them and he took good care of it too. I decided to look it up he bot 2 in 1999 so who knows now. All i know is that 1.6 toyotas are unbreakable.

LOL No worries Eekabo i know plenty bout em. Im a mehcanaic for a
living the New TDIs are actually quite the machine. The timeing belt
changes are a HUGE PITA but can be done on the driveway in under
8hrs. Problems wise had no troubles with my brothers 2003 golf
TDI (HEAVILY MODIFYED) or a buddies 2002 Jetta TDI.
Take care of em and they will run just as long as my old 1986 VW Diesel. These new injections systems on the late 04-06 models are pretty complicated but seam to be doing quite well. VW is discontinueing the diesels for 2007 and reintroducing again in 2008 with a new high preshure commmon rail fuel system for emishions reasons. So thats what im waiting for (gona be runngin the same style fuel system as the big guys (cat cummins detroite). And the nice thing about VW TDIs are you get a 60mpg car that go's like stink while leaving the AC on (Cant do that with ANYTHING else on the road including hybrids). |

60 mpg is impressive no prius will do that but im not a fan of priuses (Sp?) What do you think of Banks and there wonderful job with Duramaxes. 700 hp 850ft lb. hell it will be the new race car.
