I am considering buying the A-5 Stealth (Flatline) and read that the retail version does not have threads to put on other barrels so you need to thread it yourself if you want to add another barrel. Some posts have said that it is better to buy the regular A-5 and add the Flatline. My question is this: Does the Flatline work better on the retail version as compared to the aftermarket or do you get the same performance from both? Why would Tippmann make the A-5 Stealth without threads if it did not impact the performance (or are they saving a few cents by not threading it)? Thx in advance. Fido |

There's no difference in the Flatlines. The retail stealth is mainly for people who want to buy their gun upgraded and dont plan to upgrade anymore.

If you look in the A-5 manual (Page 10 - 11), there's a barrel adapter (Part # 02-69). When you buy a stealth kit, this barrel adapter doesn't come with the marker, but you can probably get it from Tippmann after getting the kit.

Do don't have to put threads in it yourself, you just have to buy an
adapter.... You can get it aftermarket for 420 roughly if you but it at
the right places....

There is no difference between a A5 stealth and an A5 with a Flatline and stock. The only differcnce is if you were to build the A5 Stealth you would have an A5 barrel adapter and a buttplate sitting around collecting dust. You probably could buy those parts off of www.tippmannparts.com if you want to put a different barrel/ take off the stock

I would purchase the stock retail first, then upgrade to what your playing style dictates.
