I like 14" better.
Personal Preference no real effect in performance, IMHO. |

Are the 14 barrels really worth it or should I just buy a 12? |

Nope. A compressed air tank for paintball runs at ~ 3000-4500 PSI. Your shop air compressor will output at ~ 150 PSI. |

Hmmm good thing you mentioned that as I was looking at the reds 4+tank. I guess I'll try the gun with the tank, it shouldnt be that heavy.

stay away from the Reds 4+tank pod pack, the pod sleeves will rub
against the tank sleeve and then holes are created in the pod sleeves.
This started within 2 months after I bought it.
The remote will get in the way, especially if you need to switch shooting hands fast. Try just the tank for now, NXE makes very nice pod packs and are uber cheap compaired to the rest of the name brands out there. |

Also if I have my own air compressor, is there an adapter I need to get so that I can fill my tank and friends tanks?

Dont waste your money on the Tippmann barrel , buy a decent upgrade barrel , (insert search "best barrels" here) . As far as sights , the BSA red-dot sight will bolt right onto the 98 , or the A-5 for that matter , walmart sells them for around $20.00 . Personally I like them for several reasons , they look good , for a low budget Mil-sim approach , they do help some with rapid aquisition of a target , you can shoot with both eyes open no problems , and Last they do carry some intimidation factor ! |

I've been looking and I think I might but the tippman 98 and add a 14 in barrel for accuracy and get the bt model 98 tactical carstock. What sights will work with the 98?

Dont buy that. The upgrades on it wont do much for you performance wise. Its better to buy the stock A-5 and upgrade it as you need it. |

Yes, that's the one. Get a 4+1 and you'll be happy. They are all pretty similar design wise. |

You'll want a remote line. There are tons of 4+1 packs out there. My friend has an Extreme Rage one, I know it's not the best brand, but it is nice. This guy is selling a camo 4+1 for $15 if you dont wanna buy a new one. http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?t=196360 |

Sounds good I will look into it. Whats a good harness to use with this tank? Im looking for one that can hold at least 4 podz and the tank in the back so I can run a line from the tank to my gun. And what line should I use? I found this tank is this what you're talking about ? http://www.paintballarmsdealer.com/crossfire-screw-in-preset -nitrogen-paintball-tank-p-1668.html Edited by Ranger1 - 29 June 2006 at 1:48pm |

I like the 4500psi tanks over the 3000. On the A-5 I owned the 3000psi tank wouldnt get me through a hopper and 3 pods.
Try a Crossfire 68/4500 with an 850 preset. It is a very common tank. |

I guess Im good to go then. I am one happy camper :) I was looking at the WGP WorrGas 50 CU IN. 3000psi HPA - Compressed Air System http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00092CL0Q/qid=1151529403/s r=1-9/ref=sr_1_9/103-5059216-9988606?%5Fencoding=UTF8&s= sporting-goods&v=glance&n=3375251 . This should work right? It says its set at 800 psi. |

All you'll need is a high output tank(800psi) and you're set. You wont need anything else to run on compressed air, in your case HPA. You can run on lower pressures, and that is what requires the lpk and reg. |
