Snipers are real

I would just like to say; don't disrespect some of the military's most highly trained and dedicated soldiers, by comparing your, most likely 13 year old self, to them.

Also, to semi-quote oldsoldier's sig;   "The sniper crowd thinks they're the only one who sneak and use stealth, I suppose the rest of us walk around waving a red flag with a marching band."

You are very correct, but the dictionary entry isn't there to give a whole explaination.  You can be a "sniper" to a certain extent, and it's just much easier to use that word instead of "designated marksman" or "sneaky, sneaky person".

I think the tippmann forum should turn their view around, NOT on what a sniper is and how it is not possible in paintball, but on what the word "sniper" means in paintball terms.

I am the leader of a team and we have 2 "sniper" teams of 2 men each, the only reason i even call them "sniper" teams is because it's much easier to say rather than explain by some other means.

Most people who argue in favour of true snipers in paintball obviously don't know what they're talking about and are relatively new to the sport.  Most newbs (even me) wanted to be some super marksman but soon figured out how impossible it is with standard paintball equipment.

In conclusion, I personally think the word "sniper" should be accepted but with a different meaning standard to paintball.

If you don't agree with me, I don't mind, theres a perfectly good reason not to :P
