Driving while talking on a cell phone

I dont do it anymore, now that I got a manual transmission.

It's different, because while having a conversation on a cell phone, trying to hear the person is harder, and you're more intent on listening and trying to figure out what they just said on the cell phone, rather than driving, because the signal isn't always the best, also you can only hear out of one small part, which you're really focused on that, rather than driving.  Also, you're trying to keep the cellphone up on your ear, as well as driving.  Doing that all at the same time, your mind will tend to drift off into the conversation that is going through one ear, and all that muti-tasking can be bad. 

Now if someone is in the car, it's a whole different story, you just listen, you don't try to hold up something to hear them, you just sit there normally driving, while staring ahead.  This is really easy, and you can hear them clearly, so you don't have to sit there and think about what they just said.

see for some people its the opposite, they start to pay morw attention to the convo and the roads fades out

There have been studies that have shown that your reaction time whilst talking on a cell phone is worse then whilst driving intoxicated.

In this article, there's not concrete proof, but they state that evidence exists that seems to point to the fact that cell phone talking is worse than driving drunk.

it's been proven that it does affect your awareness. my problem with it, if you wanna ban it, ban it equally accross the board, and you know what? enforce the ban while you're at it. the cops here don't do anything about it.

I've been doing it for... about year, year and a half, and the only thing that I've almost done is back up traffic because I was texting someone and the light was green and I didn't relize it till some one honked their horn.   Texting while Driving... thats rough...  Talking?? Nah... Cell phones and cars shouldn't be banned, if they ban cell phones why dont they ban Music?
