My dad was officially fired from UPS today. He is an 18 wheeler driver, and while he was at the rail yard delivering/picking up a trailer, he managed to get hit by a train, causing $35,000 worth of damage.

In 15 years he hasnt had a single accident of any sort, never had any problems with bosses or attitude, and people who have had 3 times as many accidents and caused more damage and loss to UPS and other companies havent been fired.

So its looking like I wont be able to play paintball, or be able to pay for prom, or do anything involving something that costs more than the dollar theatre for a while.

The thing that really sucks, though, is that not to long ago someone from the courthouse delivered a letter stating we were being sued by the homeowners association for a roof we didnt have the money to fix and insurance for some reason wasnt coming out to survey the damage from the hurricane the "hit" us back in whenever. The amount was $200 a day, so multiply that by the time our roof has been unsatisfactory for the H.A., and we = scr3wed.

Not to mention we werent in the best of financial shape before this. We were kind of struggling to keep our house or something. Im not to familiar with the details, but whatever. The point still stands.

And to top it off calculus is dificult.

Happy 4/20.

heh, a train. What are the odds of that. Granted he was in a rail yard but still...a train.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

I guess this isn't the right time to say, "This thread doesn't deliver" is it?

That sucks hard, but hopefully he can get another job relatively quickly.
Sounds like his record is good up until a few days ago.

My dad on the other hand, works for Delphi, so we have no idea what's gonna happen....

Sorry to hear that man, that's a terrible run of luck. :(

You don't happen to have any pics of the truck after getting hit by a train, do you? I would find such pictures very useful...

Yup, he actually said that.

my dads worked for ups for about 25 years. he told me he got in trouble and his safety thing taken away. he would have like 25 years of safe driving but thanks to that guy who backed into him he doesnt.  tahts not his fault. some people are just stupid. (the guy who backed into him and the boss who said it was my dads fault)
