What these "consumer groups" haven't grasped is that our ability to detect compounds in water far outraces our ability to treat the same. What people forget or never bother to learn are the Typhoid and Cholera outbreaks of the late 19th century that were spread mainly by untreated/tainted water. Sure we could treat the water so there was nothing in it and it tasted flat, but who will pay a $100 - $200 dollar a month water bill. Or maybe the middle class should pay that too for all those who can't afford the "perfect" water.
I still drink tap water. |

i'm not a fan of "consumer groups" who take data and scare people. clownshooter is right, and to add, have you seen the reports from the tests the government run utilities provide? i know here they send it out like a newsletter every year and it shows exactly what they found. it also tells what the legal limit of each chemical is and what level they detected.....parts per billion. i'm thankfull i live in memphis, TN. we have some of the best water.

I love tap water. It has taste. Some bottled waters are actually tap water as well. They just pretend it's from mt everest or something.

On the rare occasion I drink water, mine comes from a well and goes
through a softener. I usually prefer to poison my body with some sort
of caffinated drink. Usually Mountain Dew.
