Torrents are different. First you download a bit torrent client. Then
once you have that installed, you can go to torrent web sites. Once at
the torrent web sites, you can search for whatever media or program you
wish to download. You click the link, and the link opens up your bit
torrent client. After the client is opened, your download beings. By
the way, not all torrents are illegal. Some web sites use them as an
alternative to mirrors.

If you're running windows, it is FULL of spyware. If not, no worries.

Uhhhh, I'm running Windows XP Pro, and I've been using LimeWire for years. Never had any spyware. My sister has been running LimeWire for quite some time now has never had spyware from LimeWire. It is one of the cleanest p2p programs out there (not saying it is perfect, but certanly one of the better ones) And bit torrents are good, but you won't find as many personal videos (such as drag races, and car videos) on there. There will be some, but they will be harder to find than limewire. Limewire will have a lot more. |

^Yep, then limewire is for me.....personal videos is the main reason I'm checking this out.
Also, sorry for the dumb one, but what does "p2p" mean? Person to person? Thanks |

I also use Windows XP, and I haven't experienced any spyware issues. No
doubt my anti-spyware software has something to do with it, but I think
if you have any protection at all, you should be good.

I use BearShare.
But as Hades said, I scan files with Norton before using them. |
