I am looking to turn my A-5 to low-pressure like I did my old Sypder TL (ya the old single trigger one). I am using CO2 and would like to keep the stockish foregrip, if it becomes an issue. I saw that there is a Palmer Stabilizer A-5 kit. It appears to plug right into the body where the stock hose was. This is perfect for me, but what else needs to be done to make LP CO2 work? Or does everything else just help it work better? I just want to be able to order everything and actually have it all work when I assemble it, no suprises. Thanks for your help. Edited by Zuul |

Ah, you're talking my field now. I, as far as I know, am the only one on the forum that is active that has not used the vert adapter with the LPK. I had to take an expansion chamber, open it up, slide out the chambers, and drill holes on the top to allow the lower pressure air to flow into the valve. I also had to drop in some star washers to make sure the x-chamber didn't fly apart during use. My reg is screwed into the ASA (like you would your tank) and I modded the regulator with a male remote line fitting instead of a macroline fitting. I use a remote line, and cannot screw my tank directly into the ASA without first removing the LP parts. I can help you with some suggestions, but since you probably aren't using a remote line, my setup will halfway work for you. If you do plan to get a remote line, I'd say don't get one unless you had a stock (you need something to brace your gun). You could use my setup, BUT replace your ASA with a female Palmer Stabilizer. I could e-mail you a few pictures of my gun's setup if you don't understand. |

So you did use all of the other LPK parts? Just not the vertical adapter? Did you try doing it without the vertical adapter & no expansion chamber? If it does need one, hopefully I can find one that stays the most out of the way. Kinda looks odd with a 3rd grip thing. Which is the easiest to mod? Which expansion chamber did you mod? I still have my female Palmer reg I used on my Spyder. It is a bottom mount, in case I have to use an expansion chamer. I would appreciate pics and/or parts lists. I'll PM you my email address. Or post it all here. Thanks for the help. |

I'm also looking to turn my A-5 into low pressure to quiet the marker
and reduce the air consumption. Can the Tippmann LP kit be used with
CO2? I'm not looking to convert to nitrogen.

The expansion chamber is used to take the place of the volumizer that
comes with the LPK. http://www.tippmann.com/images/products/accessories/02-lp.jp g (link is too long for my stupid browser) Your valve won't have enough air being supplied to it to fire and recock the marker without some sort of volumizer. So running the reg directly into the valve won't work. You can use a modified x-chamber inplace of the volumizer, as its just a hollow tube with the air supplied at the top, closest to the valve. |

I know the 98 will work LP with out a LPK, so the A-5 should since its like the same thing internally.
