The more stages, the better. It takes longer for the co2 to get through the expansion chamber which will make it more effecient. |

Not true, there are 8 stage expansion chambers that work better than 40 stage ones.

Well yeah, up to a point the more stages the better. Its just crazy to have an expansion chamber with 40 stages.

Heres the main design of most. Each "bump" would be one stage. The sections are sealed off and there is a slit cut for the air to pass through alternating sides. This would be a six stage-
The X-Core is the best out there by the way. |

Its not as much a matter of "taking more time", as it is to give the liquid co2 more surface area to interact with.
co2 expands by drawing heat from its surroundings. The expansion chamber gives the co2 room to draw more heat from the surrounding air, or your hand, or whatever the case may be. |
