They say some of the newer XBOX games will be backward compatible.
No price has been given yet, but somehwre earound $300-$400 |

I told myself I am not going to bother getting it. It isnt going to be backwards compatable with Xbox games, so I am not going to waste 400 bucks for one video game to play.

I read in some gaming magazine that that was just a rumor. If when it comes out it does support the games I have, I might consider buying it, but I already have the xbox so why do I need it?
The programing and graphics are already burned into the disc so playing the games on the 360 arent going to really improve them any. Edited by Hades |

True, but look at the people that went from PS1 to PS2... graphics didn't improve over old games, yet thye still came out with new games...

Sure XboX 360 is going to come out with new games but I cant justify paying 400 and the another 50 to by the one game I will enjoy playing on the 360. If the game is good enough, it will come to the PC. Everything the Xbox 360 can do my PC can do 10 times better so I dont see the point of me buying the 360.

If you have a bad computer, 400 isn't going to help you much whale. 400 would be a new processor, a motherboard, and maybe some memory. What about a graphics card, etc, etc? Anyways, this generation of consoles is suppose to start being superior to computers in terms of graphics.
Also, the backwards compatability thing is still a rumor. I think they will do everything or nothing. It seems to hard to just allow some games to work while others won't. Just my thought. |

It will cripple sales if they are not backwards compatible, look how many games you have, and 50 dollars a pop, you have a lot of money invested in that stuff, if you get a 360 and its not backwards compatable, all that is now meaningless, your library is now empty. It would be a stupid move on Microsofts part to not make it backwards compatible, OR, its a very good move on their part, it would make people buy the new games. Who knows what they are thinking.
