I amaze myself at times. the story goes that me and my ibook were
having a little chat yesterday evening, and it decided to shoot itself in the
face. It won't boot up now, and even in safe mode and/or the install disk
modes, it will not respond. So basically, I am the god of computers. Admit
it, it takes genuine skill to break a mac. I've been perusing the apple site,
and apparently I managed to cause a 'kernel panic'. Wait now, it gets
better. These are rare enough that apple asks the braker of said computer
to send in their kernel logs for further study by the development team. To
sum up, nobody actually knows what the heck I did, and I did it very well.
So in the meantime, I shall just chill out on our other computer. Good
story, eh?

PS: Typing on a full size keyboard is way harder than on a laptop.

And no way in hell is a laptop easier to type on.

that picture is offensive to me, one of my family members is handicapped and active in boy scouts... its not appropiate for the forum and you should get a strike.  i don't believe pictures that mock the mentally handicapped should be allowed on this forum.  it is very inappropriate and offensive!!!

Rebooted.


Didn't work.

PMU reset didn't work, nor did PRAM reset.

Also, Norton 8.0 failed miserably.

I ran disk utility about 17 times, and every time, it shows an error.

I was looking around and saw Alsoft Diskwarrior 3.3...would that be a
worthwhile purchase, and would it possibly help the problem?
