My friend was at a graduation party.  Some people were standing around my friend's car and what not, when his "friend" (I put in quotes becuase they are said to have been friends, but aparently they weren't too close), flicked a cigarette, and it went into the sun roof of my friend's car.  My friend then proceded to pull out a .357 Magnum (I'm almost positive) and said "I will shoot you over my car", and cocked the gun and pointed it at the kid.  Then, he put the gun back up, which is when the kid proceded to say "I've always been told that if you cock a gun and point it at someone you had better be prepared to shoot it", or something along those lines.  My friend then took the gun back out and shot him in the chest.  He was dead by the time the cops got there.  My friend is being charged with aggravated assault, possession of a concealed handgun without a license and murder 1.  He is looking at life in prision or the death penelty.  He is claiming that he didn't know the gun was loaded, but I doubt that.

This is the story found in the newspaper, but my youth pastor said he went to the jail and talked him, and that story is not exactly true.

Oh, and before you start thinking he was some sort of "gangster" or "hoodlum", he wasn't.  He was a good kid.  Funny, outgoing, et cetera.  In fact, I knew him because he was coming to my church quite often at one point.  They think he probably got the gun from his father, whom is a state trooper.

Moral of the story: Don't taunt someone who has probably had quite a few drinks - at the least - and just cocked a gun and pointed it at you.

That is rather crazy. I had a gun pulled on me when I was 16. I knew
enough to keep my mouth shut. Of course it stung my ego, but I'm still
alive. I'll take a bruised ego rather than one in the chest.

Well, thats what happens when idiots carry guns around. I know hes your friend (was he?), but anyone who shoots someone over something that trivial has to be an idiot.

You must be as fast as Jet LI. Hopefully you never find out.

I think pretty highly of myself but I'm not tougher than a bullet.

The backseat of my car is covered with cigarette ash. My buddy puked in
the front seat, but he's still alive. Of course I made him clean it while he
was still hung over.

I used to have a '68 Mustang (beautiful), now I have a 97 Camaro RS. I
love my car, but it's just a car, and it's replaceable. Cars are just things.

Wow, what a responsible person to carry a loaded handgun, get drunk, be that upset about their car, and taunt someone he knows with the weapon once, then shoot him a second time. I feel much safer on the streets now.
