Me too. I usually write either songs or political opinion peices. 

It's almost therapy for me. I write to explore myself, and I've dabbled in poetry. Songs were never my forte, and good for you if you can write them well. I got by for a very long time by pouring everything out onto paper. Not a lot of people read it, and not because I didn't make it available, but because it made them uncomfortable. It was just me, plain and honest, and I didn't hold back on anything, especially the unflattering parts about myself, which were often the most powerful parts. 

I still have that short story I wrote and posted on here awhile back "Falling" and I still see it as something of a benchmark in my writing. I could improve on it now, but it is what it is, and it has it's own life, so I leave it as is. I still like showing it to new people though.
