But the key is, generally... You wouldn't.
Your non-belief would cause you to lean away from assigning a specific identity to "God", referring instead to a "deity" or "a God". --- I'm not attempting to sound grandiose, only to point out something that people can use later on to hear one's opinions in their own questions. The way they phrase their questions indicates their expected answer. Or so says Psych 101... |

Oh, you're Jewish? Or Muslim? Or Christian? You didn't answer much there. And actually, you're supposed to spell any deity's name with a capital first letter according to proper English grammar. That includes Satan, Allah, etc. |

Yes you're right generally you wouldn't but there will always be people who believe in him so when speaking I dont see anything wrong with a nonbeliever referring to God in such a way, not to mention you might prossibly offend people by saying "a god" or "a deity" rather than just "God" so since it doesn't matter to me I'd be more inclined to be polite about such a matter. The person who started this thread could have just as easily been a nonbeliever. Quick making assumptions.
