Maybe it was eaten by buzzards after it died. Buzzards are pretty common in most areas.

Correction... Vultures are very commen, particulerly Turkey Vultures... Buzzards are quite rare...

Panther?

No, house cat. Too small to be a full grown panther, teeth too worn to be a young panther, flesh too, uh... there... for the teeth to have worn away that much.

On second thought, it could be a bobcat, but I'm still betting that little Suzy is crying in her pillow about how Fluffy ran away.

Cant be a bobcat or a lynx... Both Lynx and bobcats are stocky, Have wider jaws... And would have much bigger paws...

Thats definiatly some domestic cat....

It looks like it's been in the sun and dried out a lot. When the tendons dry they shrink, bending the kitty into a gross contorted pose like that. I'm no surrised that the stomache is gone. The intestines are full of bacteria that begin eating the corpse soon after death. And it's nice squishy maggot food. Maggots eat something dead like that pretty fast. They probably finished with the stmache then hatched, or the rest of the corpse dried up before they got any further. We've still got some mumified mice and chipmunks in the crawlspace that the cats left there. I once found a dead mouse in my grandfather's barn that had die, bloated, then dried out in such a way so it looked all bloated still, but was full of bones that rattled around inside when you kicked it.

Yeah... That's bizarre. Not too often you get to see something like that.

I am locking the thread, though. It was fun while it lasted, but the image is pretty disturbing for younger viewers.
