Yeah... Only the guys who follow Metallica around from city to city or more hardcore fans than I am.
The "Black Album", to me, is the best album of all time.

They just thought his talent was wasted on what they needed him to do. His style would have tried to reinvent the band, which they didn't want to do.

You've got to be kidding me. Les was turned down for being too good for Metallica. That has to be the craziest thing I've ever heard. You're a Claypool fan, listen to the Awakening or Tommy the Cat. Two awesome songs by Claypool.

Les Claypool auditioned to fill Cliff Burton's shoes and was turned down. Why? Because he was too good.
"We needed somebody to play Metallica tunes. Les was too good. He had a style all his own."

Says James Hetfield in relation to Cliff Burton... (Heavy paraphrase, it's been a long time since I've seen the interview.)
"We walked into a bar and the guy on stage was playing some kind of wicked guitar. Finally I noticed it was a bass and I was like 'You can't do that on a bass, we need this guy in our band.'"

Yes.
Also Walkabout, Sir Psycho Sexy, If you Have to Ask, Minor Thing, and gotta love Love Rollercoaster. Anyway, where the hell did I come from... again? Gotta say this will be my last post. I am glad it has something to do with something good; like music, and paintball is also good. late(r).

Red Hot Chili Peppers is my all time favorite band my favorite album is BSSM or Mother's Milk. I am a bassist so Flea is my idol. Higher Ground, Under the Bridge, Coffee Shop, Aeroplane, Naked In the Rain, Can't Stop, All Around the World, Californication, Give it Away, Apache Rose Peacock, and Skinny Sweaty Man are great songs.
