Topic: e-grip questions Posted: 21 June 2004 at 5:20pm |
so i finally got my e-grip, and there are a couple things i need to ask about.
1. when gassed and in semi, if i pull the trigger slowly right to the point of activation the gun will go pretty much full auto because the recoil of the gun cause multiple pulls of the trigger instantaneously without me even trying to do it.
2. somewhat related, when i was in full auto or 3 round and i had it on the highest rate of fire, it would sometimes shoot at almost the slowest rate. i think it is related because i believe the slow shooting is also cause by the recoil.
3. after shooting a bit, it began to slowly leak out the tombstone and barrel. after about 1 minute and a couple more shots, the leaking stopped. there had never been a leak previously on ther gun before, ever. what could have caused this?
overall, im asking about the recoil. is there any way to reduce it, without buying the lp kit? otherwise, i love the e-grip and its one of my favorite upgrades so far. thx guys

1: yes that happens
2: something doesn't sound right about that
3: maybe lightly oil the o-rings, and make sure they are good condition too! drop a couple drops of oil i asa and fire a few times.
LPK is the only way i know to reliably lower recoil.

if i get the lp kit, would the semi thing still happen? also, i just wanted to say that when it wasnt gassed up, the grip never went to slow rof when it was on fast. im pretty sure it was the recoil.
also, clicking the solenoid when the marker isnt gassed doesnt hurt it at all right?

Dry firing your e-grip won't hurt it. A drop of oil in the valve o-ring where the tombstone fits helps prevent leaks. As for recoil, it's unusual for it to happen unless you are firing "limp wristed".
Having spent years firing automatic weapons, I find paintball gun recoil almost imperceptible. No matter how hard you think it kicks, trust me, it's not beyond control.

the recoil is always going to be great. with the low pressure system it will be greatly reduced but still not be as small as say an impy.

I've never felt any recoil with my A-5. But then I also curl 150lbs and bench 400lbs. If there is recoil, I don't notice it.

Well, the semi-auto with the auto firing probably means you're not in semi-auto. You're in turbo mode, which means if the trigger pull is less than .25 seconds (or something like that) it'll fire full auto. If the trigger pull is held for longer, it'll shoot once. Get a stock to reduce recoil if it's so bad. And the E-Grip doesn't cause leaks, it's just a metal rod that is electronically hitting the sear bolt. Something got screwed up in your gun (o-ring went bad, you loosen something up on accident, etc.)

if u get the lpk, make sure its one of the newer ones. There were complaints with the older ones that the egrip ruined the rear bolt. They made new bolts that are hardened.
