PIPE set hands down instead of inserts like the freak you get whole backs with the correct size the pipe self cleans to an extint. Better accuracy in my opinion and better looks you get a nice fade and cool looking porting.

None...it's an open-bolt marker, there's no need. Think about it...paint varies tons, get some calipers out and measure a few balls and you'll see that the size varies by up to .01" at times (if the paint sucks). Even good paint like Marbilizer, we're talking a .002" difference. With that kind of range...it's not even practical to match the bore size. The best bet is to get one big .691 barrel to reduce the chances of that one big ball in the barrel from breaking and causing some havoc with your accuracy. As far as the bounce...we're talking .002" which is miniscule, any added accuracy from the two-point contact system will be negated by the wake of the ball leaving the barrel and the spin imparted on the ball (paintballs do spin). |

^^^^Sum it up, I don't understand, are you saying it's pointless to match up Bore size to paint size?

Essentially...I'm not so sure if it's useless as it is simply impractical. And then what is the correct paint-to-bore match? Back in the day, it was a tight match. Later, it was a loose match (or am I mixed up) and now it's two points of contact...so which is right?

ya dont listen to him the stiffi switch kit and freak kit and the pipe kit are all great kits but i would go with the stiffi switch since its all carbon fiber design wont be affected in cold weather and is only 2oz http://xpaintball.com/spevpibakit.html the pipe http://xpaintball.com/spydfreakbar1.html the freak the reason its autococker threaded is because they dont make anything but autococker threaded switch kits so heres the link to a the kit and a barrel adapter http://store.yahoo.com/actionvillage/012-130-0101.html expensive!! but heres the stiffi switch http://www.paintballadrenaline.com/v2/customer/product.php?p roductid=17737&cat=423&page=1 heres the adapter it took me 20 minuts to find

A choice of what? Unless he has a closed-bolt marker, there is no choice to be made, it's simple physics. A perfect paint-to-bore match has two points of contact. This imparts spin on the ball (think of a globe) and it's uncontrolled spin. The Flatline spins balls, but it is controlled. With a straight barrel, there's no way to know how the balls will line up. That is...if you can actually get the "proper" paint-to-bore match. We all know that spin causes a ball to tend to one direction...like a Flatline does...so do you really want to put spin on the ball? I can even prove it. Paintballs are not perfectly round. Therefore, there will be an uneven flow of air across the ball. One side allows more, the other less so there is a loss of balance in the air distribution. This causes the ball to spin. Prove it yourself. Get a ball with two colors, black and silver maybe, and get a perfect paint to bore match...see the spin? Yeah. Exactly. Now, will it decrease accuracy? Maybe...maybe not. Use the same paint in varying bore sizes that are very tight or very large and accuracy will remain the same for the most part. You should visit PBR more often... Edited by Shut Down |
