98 custom upgrades

My recommendations:

1. 12" Lapco Bigshot (little over $50 but it's a great barrel)

2. 2x trigger (whichever you like)

3. Pen spring mod

4. 12v revvy

5. X-chamber (only if you're using CO2)

6. Anti-siphon tube (only if you use CO2)

The pen spring mod combined with a double trigger will let you rip like crazy if you have a quick finger. I would guess that my max ROF is around 10 bps on my 98c and maybe a little higher on the A5 because of mods like that. The greatest part is that the pen spring only costs as much as the pen you took it from yet it does so much for you.

The revvy isn't a necessity but if you plan to shoot fast then you definitely want to have some kind of agitated hopper or you'll be doing a lot of shaking and chopping. I've been using a revvy for quite a while now and it's worked out nicely for me so far.

If you can't use nitro for whatever reason then I highly suggest an x-chamber and an anti-siphon tube for your setup. The x-chamber will allow any liquid CO2 that enters the gun to expand into gas before getting to the valve which helps preserve your o-rings and prevents velocity spikes. The anti-siphon tube will also help to prevent liquid CO2 from getting in the gun and therefore has the same effect as an x-chamber. An anti-siphon tube is pretty cheap, an x-chamber will cost more on its own and then you have to buy the vertical adapter too. You might be fine with just an anti-siphon tube but putting an x-chamber on with it wouldn't hurt. Also, have an airsmith put the anti-siphon tube in for you. Air tanks can be very dangerous if an untrained person is tampering with them and people have been killed by them. Pay whatever labor fees you have to, it's not worth having the tank unscrew from the pin valve and launch itself at somebody's head like a missile just to save a couple bucks.
