BUFFALO GROVE, IL - MARCH 24, 2006 - Tippmann Sports, a world-leading manufacturer of paintball markers and related accessories, is proud to announce a sponsorship agreement with CPX Sports in Joliet, Illinois. There are three key components to this newly formed partnership. One, Tippmann will become the exclusive rental marker of CPX Sports. Two, Tippmann will receive co-naming rights to the park's Town of Bedlam. And three, Tippmann will become title sponsor of the Windy City Classic - a new paintball and Airsoft event scheduled for October 2006.
Under terms of the deal, CPX will be among the first paintball fields to offer markers featuring Tippmann's new Anti-Chop Technology (A.C.T.) as they transition their entire rental fleet to Tippmann over the next few years. "We're always looking to maximize our presence at major paintball venues like CPX Sports," said Patrick Ehren, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Tippmann Sports. "It's such an important way to introduce the Tippmann brand to new players. We know if consumers are given opportunities to use our products, they're likely to walk away as Tippmann fans for life."
Ray Dagnino, Field Owner of CPX commented, "By incorporating A.C.T. into its 98 Custom, Tippmann Sports has improved upon what was already the most durable and field-proven rental marker available. We're excited about A.C.T. because it will enhance the paintball experience for new players by virtually eliminating ball breakage and jamming. And, that could very well translate into a growth in the sport for field owners down the road."
The Town of Bedlam has been among the park's primary paintball attractions since it opened in October of 2000. It is a large scale, realistic playing field consisting of numerous two-story structures where snipers can easily hide. In addition to co-naming rights to Town of Bedlam, Tippmann will also receive prominent signage throughout the park.
Finally, Tippmann will become the official sponsor of the Windy City Classic, a new two-day event featuring paintball on Saturday and Airsoft on Sunday at CPX Sports, which is scheduled for October 14 and 15. Ehren stated, "CPX has always put on great events and we're excited to be a part of this inaugural Midwest tournament."
Ehren went on to say, "This agreement with CPX Sports is important because it strengthens Tippmann's presence in the Chicago market through an affiliation with one of the premier fields in the country. Through this program, we get our products into players hands, we expand our brand exposure to thousands of consumers through on-field signage and we get our name on what surely will be a successful 'must attend' annual event in the Windy City Classic."
CPX's Dagnino added, "We're very excited to solidify our partnership with Tippmann and we look forward to working with them to grow paintball in the years ahead."
