BUFFALO GROVE, IL-JULY 2005-Tippmann Sports, a world-leading manufacturer of high performance paintball markers and related accessories, introduces the new Cyclone Feed System accessory. The Cyclone Feed System was originally introduced on the company's A-5™ marker in 2002. Now the same technology, which revolutionized the A-5™, is available as an accessory for Tippmann's 98™ Custom and Custom Pro™ markers.
The Cyclone Feed System reduces jamming and breakage while increasing feed speed. Unlike an electronic feeder, which relies on battery power to agitate a wheel to feed the balls, the Cyclone Feed System syncs the agitation wheel with the trigger pull using CO2. Since the feeder connects directly to the air system, the feeder advances every time the trigger is pulled. This dramatically reduces the chance of jamming and breakage caused by inconsistent agitation.
"We're always looking for ways that technology and innovation can eliminate some of the challenges players encounter in the field. Without question, jamming and breakage are at the top of the list," said Denny Tippmann, Jr., Vice President of Research and Development for Tippmann Sports. "We've taken our experience in the industry and blended it with the latest technology to come up with a solution to one of the game's biggest challenges. After seeing players' response to the Cyclone on the A-5™, we knew we had to offer the same technology for the 98 Custom™ and Custom Pro™."
The Cyclone Feed System feeds up to 15 balls per second and comes with a wide-mouth hopper designed to hold 200 balls. The system is powered by CO2, not a battery, which will eliminate the hassle of players needing to constantly replace batteries.
In the unlikely event a jam does occur, the Cyclone will automatically reverse its agitation until the jam is eliminated. This further reduces the possibility of breakage. As an added benefit, the Cyclone Feed System attaches via the quick-release elbow, similar to what is currently used on the 98 Custom™ and Custom Pro™ receivers. This allows for fast, easy cleaning without the need to remove the barrel or hopper.
The MSRP for the Cyclone Feed System is $69.99 and will be available at paintball dealers at the end of July.
"With the growth of our patented Response Trigger System and electronic triggers, the demand for feed systems that can keep up with ever-increasing trigger speeds is imperative," said Patrick Ehren, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Tippmann Sports. "Existing 98 Custom™ customers, and new 98 Custom™ and Custom Pro™ customers, now have the opportunity to upgrade their market with our Cyclone technology. The Cyclone is just one of several innovative, technology-driven accessories we're currently developing for our customers."
